Alright.... Here is the detailed run down of my experience with Ballpark Classics.
GREAT INSTRUCTIONS
Poor instructions often lead to poor reviews. I like to look at the instructions of a product as an extension of manufacturer's customer service. "I need help putting this product together, so please give me something that makes perfect sense so I do not have to ask for help." I do not know what was better, the easy to follow and understand step by step written instructions, or the VERY clear visual pictures. Ballpark Classics met me at my level and made very clear the process of assembly.
EASY ASSEMBLY
I spread out all the neatly organized parts on the floor and began assembly, with the help of my 3 year old. EVERYTHING went together exactly as described.......the first time. My assembly time was just a touch over 20 minutes, but there was a part of me that did not want it to end. It was a fun process and made me feel just little like Ray Kinsella from that ever so famous movie. I got caught up in the moment and looked at my daughter and said, "If you build it, they will come." With a smile on my face and a confused look on hers, we exchanged high fives just like we do every time she finishes a task successfully. Just looking at this ball field was pleasing in itself. It could not get more realistic in design and detail than
what Ballpark Classics has put together.
PLAYS EVEN BETTER THAN IT LOOKS
Keep in mind, my first time playing this game was with my daughter....who is 3. Her first pitch was a strike and so my first swing. What a great game for teaching yourself, and your kids hand/eye coordination. After a little while we both got the hang of it and things got pretty exciting. We managed to hit singles, doubles, and triples in the short game we played. My daughter was given MVP for literally hitting one completely out of the park. Our first ball game together took place right in our living room. Her love for baseball continues to grow!
STORES EASILY
Many times family games like this(foosball, air hockey, rod hockey, pool tables, poker tables, etc.) are a lot of fun to play, but consumers are limited to what they can purchase based on space. During game play the ball field has a pretty good size foot print. What I really love about it is the fact that when all is said and done I can EASILY store away. Anyone could own this game! I choose to have mine sit in plain view in my office so others can admire it as well, but it could be stored under a bed, in a closet, behind the couch, or it would make a great discussion piece out on a coffee table.
Hope you enjoy the game as much as we do!
